Gianna is a Yoga Alliance Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher and a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP). She has additional certifications as a WAE L1 Teacher and in Restorative Yoga. She brings the knowledge and grace of a personal and family history of ballet to her work as a Yoga Practitioner, with a sensitive and compassionate approach to her teaching, supported by a strong background in Therapeutic Yoga and Trauma-Informed Yoga.
Through her own practice over the course of many years, she has experienced first-hand the benefits of Yoga in helping her to overcome back pain and injury, as well as bringing a greater sense of purpose, peace, and well-being to her life.

Yoga for Back Care
Gianna has chosen to work from a specialized premise in her Yoga teaching, offered throughTherapeutic Yoga.
You will experience anatomically-knowledgable instruction in caring for your back, inclusive of the overall musculature of the back, along with attention to the low back, sacroiliac joints, sacrum, pelvis, hips, piriformis, in particular.
Gianna's work in Trauma-Informed Therapeutic Yoga is offered in a clinical setting and supports individuals who are experiencing trauma-induced changes, or dysregulation, in the brain and nervous system. Through a comprehensive Trauma-Informed Therapeutic Yoga and mindfulness practice, individuals are helped to find more regulation, by way of decreasing sympathetic nervous system activity, increasing parasympathetic nervous system activity, calming the amygdala, and decreasing levels of cortisol in the body. The associated symptoms of trauma -- hyperarousal, hypoarousal, and emotional reactivity -- are responsive to the somatic intervention of movement through Yoga; breathing, relaxation, and mindfulness meditation are also an integral part of the Mindful Trauma-Informed Yoga program she has created and guides individuals through.
All of Gianna's classes focus on recognition of each individual as whole and complete, and she is mindful of and sensitive to both the physical and mental components, of which we are each uniquely comprised.

Her work is of therapeutic value to the body, mind, and spirit alike. Classes are mindfully researched and studied, thoughtfully prepared, and offered with compassion, to always ensure their therapeutic nature, at the very core. Gianna's work with Chiropractic patients experiencing pain, instability and/or recovering from injury, particularly to their low back, and to help them complement their Chiropractic care utilizing the healing modality of Yoga with a therapeutic approach is one of her greatest joys. Her work in clinical Trauma-Sensitive Yoga has, by far, been the most rewarding work she has ever done. Her teaching truly comes from the heart.

To ensure that the student’s needs are being met most appropriately and effectively, students newly contacting the Studio will always have a phone consultation with Gianna, prior to enrollment, to ensure she has a class suitable and appropriate for them. Understandably, not all group classes are appropriate, nor comfortable, for every individual and a student may prefer, more suitably, a private class setting.
